Update

Well, since Christmas and New Year I've been back at work, and working out what I will be doing this year. I've decided that this year will be the official start to me developing and starting my brand. I'm unsure whether to use my actual name for the brand or something else as its quite difficult to find me on the web without really knowing how to spell my name; and as my name is made up, that's pretty tricky!

I'm weighing up the options on whether it's a good idea to move out of my larger bedroom in sacrifice for a pattern cutting, design and sewing room! Decisions, decisions...

Christmas Craft Fair Newquay!

The blog ( and many other things ) have gone un-loved for a while, this is due to the immanent Christmas craft fair at Newquay's Hotel Victoria on the 19th December. It's getting a bit hectic, and I am officially unable to see the floor in my room anymore, with it being covered in fabric, wool, and other bits.

I'm making handwarmers in various colours, Notice/pin boards, Faux Fur muffs in different types of fur, Christmas decorations and coloured purses. I have only finished the handwarmers, and a 1/3 of the fur muffs, so I am pushing it for time!

Me and Dawn are also baking so expect to see and eat some lurrrverly cakes too!

Rowcroft Charity Fashion Show

On Thursday 6th October, some of my designs were featured in an event to raise funds for Rowcroft Hospice.
It was a really great night and hopefully, they managed to raise plenty of money too!  Thanks to all the models who took part, you all looked wicked!

Alterations a go-go

Well, I had a lovely mini-break at my friends place in Falmouth last weekend. The weather wasn't brilliant, but we managed to find things to do. We had lots of discussions about work and how we both would LOVE to work together. Its so annoying how we both live so far apart. : (

I've been doing a fair few alterations this month, including skirts, trousers and some more dresses. Doesn't really get me much income, but its paid for some fish for my tank! I got 2 clown fish to join my cleaner shrimp. My nephew has decided to name them Shaggy & Scooby. They tend to tease the shrimp by brushing past him and swimming off quick before he can reach them. Poor shrimpy.

I've recently been looking at sorting my room out. Living with the parents doesn't really give me much room to manoeuvre between my bed, sewing machines and bedside cabinets in my bedroom. We do have a spare room, but for some un-known reason, I'm not permitted to have it for a sewing room (arghhhh). Really wish I could, would make me feel like being more creative and actually produce some more clothes to sell on etsy. Plus I could decorate it and kit it out in a really lovely way - google images searching 'sewing room inspiration' is my current time waster!

Lets hope next time I blog I will have captured the room for my own...

p.s I'm loving new Family Guy, Angry Boys, Luther, and The Apprentice.

Alterations & a Crab. Oh Yes, a Crab.

I've been a very busy bee over the last few weeks doing some alterations for clients. Mainly dresses, a few skirts and a jacket. I've still got just my studio (bedroom) to work in which makes it rather difficult to maneuver between overlocking and sewing in there!
Update on the fishes - still none in the tank due to the water taking ages to cycle. I have, however found another creature- a small porcelain crab who hitchhiked his way in on a rock. He hides all day in a mahoosive hole and only comes out at night to feed on algae. I haven't seen him fully yet, but i've named him Sebastian. He looks like a Sebastian. I will post photos once he has decided to stay still for more than 2 seconds!

It's Been a While...

So, it's been a while since I've updated the bloggy. I have no excuse.
I have been busy working away at my 'day job' trying to earn some extra dosh!
Although, as soon as I've earn't it, its spent!
I've decided, rather than make a collection each season, i'm concentrating on making pieces based around a general idea/theme.
Been doing a alterations in the evenings on things like dresses, skirts, and bridesmaid dresses.
Also started  a marine fish tank! No fish in as yet, as the tank has to cycle (bascially, the water has got to have no bad bacteria in it that will harm the fish) so i'm sat next to an empty tank with some live rock in. I've seen a few sluggy things and other creatures which will help keep the tank clean but they do look a bit freaky. Will post some pics once I've got some creatures in there.

Knit-Wit

Spring/Summer is creeping up on me, and I have only designed a few pieces for my new collection, 'Wildflower'.
I've officially overspent this month, and i've only just been paid. I have arriving soon, many, many, fabulous coloured yarns, which will be turned into a range of things for the collection aswell. Hopefully, Mr.Postman will bring them soooooon.
I have also just got some plain fabric through, which is going to have some sort of dyeing technique applied to it. Not giving much away, as it may turn out crap!
On a random note, I heard Ricky Gervais has recorded another audiobook due for release soon, which is BRILLIANT!, its the only thing that keeps me amused whilst sat in traffic on the way to work.
